PUTTING PENCIL TO PAPER

THE ULTIMATE CREATIVE WRITING COURSE

These two classes, one the basic level for 2nd-4th graders, and the other at a second, more polished level, are integral parts of a complete OMNIBUS immersion course in creative writing and literary exchange. Writing as an ongoing process in which students plan, draft, revise, edit, and publish their writing. The course focuses on what children want to communicate, since student choice is of primary importance. Grammar, syntax, and responding meaningfully to teacher-read literature is an important element of this hands-on course, which is taught by Zoë Sippel, a reading and writing workshop specialist who trained at Columbia University under the internationally renowned Lucy Calkins herself, as well as Omni’s director, Lorraine Gerstl. While it is impossible to do justice to the scope of this superb course in a brief caption, your child should absolutely not miss it!  Enrollment is strictly limited and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
