MEDIEVAL TIMES

THE FALL OF ROME TO THE RENAISSANCE

In 476, A.D. the Roman Empire in the west, which had ruled most of the known world at that time, collapsed due to corruption, the division of the empire, and invasion by Germanic tribes. During the next 900 years, Europe endured one of the least understood, most bizarre, and most exciting times in all western history, variously called the Dark Ages, the Middle Ages, or Medieval Times. In one of Omni’s most popular classes, we’ll witness first-hand the rise of the Byzantine millennium, the beginnings of modern European civilization, emerging nations, challenges from the Muslim world, Charlemagne, the Holy Roman Empire, and the lure of knights, castles, and chivalry – the stuff of which legends are made. Sign up as soon as possible, for this class will fill up quickly.
