Just in time to supplement our spring TRANSPORTATION CLASS, Dr. Liese Murphree, who conducted the extremely popular Omni Makerspace program in September and October, returns with a dynamic new 6-week workshop,

In Physics in Motion, we will examine what makes things go!  We will explore forces, energy, and other physics concepts by building floaters, flyers, rockets, planes, cars, coasters, and trolleys. Using their science journals to keep track of what they learn, students will keep designs for the vehicles they construct and force-and-energy diagrams to explain how these vehicles move.

We’ll examine a different kind of vehicle each week to understand the forces of motion, gravity, acceleration, kinetic and potential energy, as well as Newton’s laws of gravity motion.  We’ll also compare what real airplanes, cars, and trolleys have in common with the ones we made.

The content of this exciting workshop will be relevant for ages 7 through 12 years.

Sessions will take place from 10:00 to 11:30 am

Tuesdays:  January 21, 28, February 3, 11, 18, 25

Cost of $150 for 6 sessions includes all supplies

All classes will be given at the OMNI LEARNING CENTER classroom at

Cypress Community Church on Highway 68 between Monterey and Salinas
