Ours is a nation with more diverse peoples than any other place on Earth! In this course, Omni students explore the origins and development of the United States, from its beginnings through today. We start with ORIGINS – From the sailing of the Mayflower through the American Revolution. We explore the expansion of the diversity factor From the Auction Block to the Immigration Dock. Finally, we study How Technology and Inventions shaped our modern world in our unit highlighting the philosophy of our country: in addition to our democratic ideals and freedoms, THE BUSINESS OF BUSINESS IS BUSINESS. Omni students gain an enhanced understanding of what makes our country tick. We will engage in academic and hands-on studies, such as making maps; demonstrating the actual size of various ships; designing and making a Tall Ship.
