Science – Botany
Greetings explorers and scientists! Taught by famed scientist Kent Griffin. This Fall, we will explore the beautiful field of Botany. Have you wondered how plants grow from tiny seeds to become huge oak trees? Is a Mushroom a plant or something altogether different? We all love beautiful flowers, but what is their role is plant reproduction? Throughout this class, we will explore these and many other questions. Students will have the opportunity to grow their own plants and learn what helps them thrive: soil, light, water, and heat. Since we live in the “Salad bowl of the world,” we will also explore the many seasonal crops grown here in Monterey County.
